1:30-2:30 p.m: Dr. Lowe: Safe Pain Management- Using All the Tools in the Box. In the current climate that fosters concern about opioid use, it is essential to become aware of all the options available to us in order to mitigate both acute and chronic pain. This presentation will illustrate multimodal analgesia using both non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic measures.
2:30-3:30 p.m: Gina Gang, DPT: Therapeutic Alliance: Connecting requires intention. With an increase in technology and decline in face-to-face communication, there is a need for renewed attention to establishing a therapeutic connection with patients. Health care providers can improve the collaborative relationship with their patient by improving therapeutic alliance, the non-clinical component of patient-centered care.
